Yoga & Qigong

  • Foundational and Invigorating

    Kickstart the day with traditional Sun Salutations. An invigorating flow practice to connect the body to breath, and breath to Mind. Energise for the rest of the day with variations of Surya Namaskara as practised in Gokul Yoga. Gokul Yoga honours the Mrdu(elementary) – Madhya(intermediate) -Adhimatra(advanced) system in the Yoga Sutras. This system echoes throughout the practice, and the layers of our being. This is important groundwork for yoga practice.

  • Precise and Grounding

    The Classic 26 class, also commonly known as Hot Yoga or Bikram Yoga consists of a set sequence of 26 postures and two breathing exercises.

    Each posture may heal or strength the spine, joints, muscles, and organs as well as the digestive, endocrine and nervous systems, including the brain.

    A regular practice of this class serves as purification, medicine, and therapy to the body.

Perfect for beginners or those seeking a gentler approach, this class offers a supportive introduction to yoga's transformative power.

  • Dynamic and Energising.

    This is our signature class - a fixed sequence inspired by the traditional Ashtanga and Ghosh methods. This practice combines a series of classic postures with clear focus on alignment and awareness of breath. This is a multi-level class.

  • Powerful & Grounding

    A traditional method taught by Sri K. Pattabhi Jois, which synchronises breath with precise movements to build strength, purify the body, and calm the mind. In this half-led Primary Series class, you'll flow through sun salutations, grounding standing postures, and key seated asanas. The consistent sequence creates a moving meditation, allowing you to develop awareness while being guided through this transformative practice that links each movement with breath (vinyasa).

  • Holistic and Strengthening

    Dharma Yoga classes are known for their dynamic and challenging sequences, often including a mix of both beginner and advanced poses. The practice aims to cultivate strength, flexibility, balance, and inner peace. This class is suitable for practitioners of all levels, as variations and modifications are offered to accommodate different abilities.

  • Balanced and Grounding

    This 90 minutes session is a holistic yoga practice integrating asanas, pranayama, meditation, yoga nidra, and yogic philosophy. Maha Sadhana, which translates to "The Great Practice," is designed to integrate various aspects of yoga to promote physical, mental, and spiritual well-being, guiding practitioners towards a balanced and peaceful life. Suitable for all levels.

    Gokul Yoga is taught by Mahayogi Gokulacandra Das, and is based on the transformative elements of Thinking, Feeling and Willing (cintayanti, bhava and vasana). A system of Ha and Tha energetical locks (bandhas) draws the yoga practitioner inward, to approach Asana (physical poses) on a Prana (energetical) level, encouraging one to refine and align Asana from inside out, thus facilitating a deep and meditative yoga practice.

A regular and consistent practice cultivates improved focus, concentration and deeper awareness of being, guiding practitioners toward a more refined understanding of their inner landscape and connection to the present moment.

    This is a sitting practice, no movement required.

    This practice is fast-paced and dynamic, linking your breath to the different motions of your body in a continuous flow. The class combines strength with flexibility, building up internal heat, which aids in detoxifying the body. Expect to get your heart rate up in this uplifting class.

    The Power Stretch class combines traditional yoga poses with a focus on strength and flexibility. Using mindful breathing and controlled movements, this practice guides you through strength-building postures with deep stretches for enhanced flexibility, balance, and vitality.     This nurturing practice brings the gentle power of Chandra Namaskara (Moon Salutation) at a thoughtful and intentional pace that honours your body's natural rhythms.

    Though slower than traditional Vinyasa, this practice offers both physical and energetic dimensions through mindful transitions, side-bending postures, and hip-opening movements. Suitable for all levels, this class creates space for women in every life stage - from menstrual cycles to fertility journeys, postpartum, and menopause - to move in ways that feel authentic and nourishing. Each session can be modified to support your current phase and energy level.

  • Mindful and Liberating

    This practice is ideal for days when you want to cultivate awareness of movement and breath at a slow and steady pace. Taken at a slower pace than our Vinyasa class, this style is still strong and physically challenging, centred around slower transitions and mindful breathing. This is a multi-level class and a great option for beginners.

    This class blends both Yin and Yang elements in one practice, bringing together the benefits of dynamic postures and transitions with cooling and passively held poses. A great way to balance the opposing energies in the body. This is a multi-level class.

    This is a slow and gentle class, targeting the deep tissues of the joints by holding the postures for extended periods of time. This class is a great way to unwind, and also to find a meditative experience in your yoga asana practice. Perfect for beginners and all levels.

    This practice invites you into a gentle, profound journey of healing and restoration. Sink into supportive props and deliciously slow-held poses that melt away tension and activate your body's natural relaxation response. Each carefully curated sequence allows you to release deeply held stress, restore nervous system balance, and cultivate inner stillness. Expect to emerge feeling profoundly relaxed, renewed, and softly transformed.

  • Restful and Rejuvenating

    Also known as yogic sleep, this practice invites you to surf between the states of wakefulness and sleep, where our body finds its natural state of equilibrium – the breath balances and becomes quiet, and we fall into an innate state of deep, blissful awareness. The class will begin with pranayama (breathing exercise) and then be guided to lie down, no movement is involved.

  • Fluid and Harmonising

    Discover the ancient Chinese practice of Qigong, a holistic approach to balancing and harmonising your body's vital energy, or "Qi." In this class, you'll learn to:

    • Combine fluid movements, focused breathing, and mindful intention

    • Release stagnant energy and attune to your body's current state

    • Enter a state of dynamic relaxation through flowing, meditative movements

    After the routine, your body will be cleared of blockages and the Qi within will be flowing. This is the perfect time for meditation or a “Qi nap” to integrate the cultivated energy and to absorb the healing frequencies of the gong or singing bowls as they penetrate your cells and nervous system to clear stress and support your body's natural healing processes.
